we're happy to announce that tenniscoats' full album is finally released! this is tenniscoats!
Four years past since their manifesto 'human is music !' - long awaited full length studio recording album, 14 songs / more than one hour, is finally coming up from sunny side of Japanese underground DIY psychedelic playground.
It's their 3rd effort following two mini-albums: "The Theme of Tenniscoats" ('00, Majikick) and "The Ending Theme" ('02, Noble / Midi Creative) since 2 years.
Their members are varied and never fix except main songwriter & lead vocalist Saya and her partner Takashi Ueno, mainly plays guitar and sax. They two are also important players for Tori Kudo's Maher Shalal Hash Baz (listen to their current recordings like 'Good Morning' or 'Crossing the Tama River' on Geographic, UK - it features Saya on lead vocals) and short lived electronica sensation Cacoy, with their pal DJ Klock among lots more obscure projects with frequently switching members from their based label Majikick records led by charismatic Saya herself. Most melodic side of them here, with thoughtfully combined guitar works by Ueno after his two guitar solo albums nothing but poetic and inner exploded. Their sound of magic will make you smile and they will even reflect it here already. So we call it "human is music".
Exiled nowhere-ness of 'Wanderus', a newest homage to Television Personalities (of 'Part Time Punks' era) 'TeLen-Pa-Woo', hoping for own funeral in the deep snow 'Take Me Home', sounds like an answer to Slapp Happy 'Tree or Not To Be', heartwarming afternoon glace 'Doughnut' can be highlight. On this recording featuring Jun Kosugi (ex- Fushitsusha) and Tim Barnes (Jim O'rouke band, Nagisa Nite).
